The XVth Annual Review Meeting of AICRP on Nematodes in Agriculture was organized and conducted at MPUAT, Udaipur on 15th and 16th September 2022. Booklet on 'Keralatthile vilakalile nimavirakal' prepared by Dr. Nisha. M.S, Assistant Professor, AICRP on Nematodes, was released by the Hon'ble ADG (PP&B) Dr. S.C. Dubey and Project Coordinator, Dr.Anil Sirohi during this function.
Dr.Nisha.M.S, Assistant Professor, AICRP on Nematodes, RARS (SZ), Vellayani along with entomologist Nafeesa, M., CRS Pampadumpara and Agricultural Officer, Upputhara KB visited the slow wilt affected areas in Upputhara panchayat of Idukki district. Combined infection of plant parasitic Nematodes, root mealy bugs, and fungal pathogens was observed in black pepper plants. Soil application of Farm yard manure enriched with Trichoderma and Purpureocillium was recommended.
The Karshaka Santhwanam team comprising of Dr. Santosh Kumar K.T., Dr. Susha S. Thara, Dr. Nisha M.S., made a field visit on 14-10-2022 to several farms in the Nedumangad Block of the Thiruvananthapuram district. The team provided training to farmers and also recommendations related to good farming practices and crop management.
The Karshaka Santhwanam team comprising of Dr Santosh Kumar T., Dr. Radhika N.S. and Dr. Esakkimuthu along with Mr. Pramodh M.S., the Asst. Director of Agriculture, visited the Nadan Agro farm owned by farmer Sujith of Kadinamkulam, Thumba, on 15-10-2022. The farmer does vegetable precision farming in two plots of 2 acres each. The scientist team gave advise related to plant protection, production and new planting techniques was given
Training Program for Tribal Entrepreneurs from Idukki District on Bee-Keeping
Under Tribal Sub Plan, the three-day offline training program was conducted at RARS (SZ), College of Agriculture, Vellayani from 27.09.2022 to 29.09.2022 with selected twenty trainees of Kozhiyalakudy, and Chokramudikudi tribal settlements of Idukki district for empowering them with beekeeping.

GIS Centre was inaugurated at the college of agriculture, Padannakkad by Dr. R C Agrawal, DDG Education ICAR on 12th August 2022. The center can cater to the needs of students, planners and other stakeholders for the spatial maps on relevant themes like watershed maps, flood map, fire hazard maps, soil nutrient maps etc. Computer based GIS ( Geographical information system) facilitates both creation of maps and various complex analysis. It allows working with geographical data in a digital format to aid decision making in resource management.
