The College of Agriculture (COA) Vellayani held the inaugural session of Deeksharambh - Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2024 on November 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Indoor Stadium. The program aimed to welcome and orient new students enrolled in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and B.Tech Biotechnology.
The ceremony began with an invocation by the College Choir, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Allan Thomas, Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Extension Education (AEE) and in-charge of the SIP. Dr. Roy Stephen, Dean of Faculty (Agriculture) at COA Vellayani, delivered the Presidential Address.
Dr. G. Byju, Director of ICAR - CTCRI, led the official inauguration. Esteemed guests, including Shri Binesh Kumar S, President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA); Dr. Rafeekher M, Member of the Academic Council; Miss Aparna A H, Chairman of the College Union; and Dr. Abdul Khader, President of the COA Vellayani Alumni, offered their felicitations. Dr. Naveen Leno, Secretary of the PTA, provided a briefing on PTA activities.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Smt. Susan Thomas, Professor of Academics (UG). The event was well-attended by faculty members, marking a warm welcome for the new cohort of students.
