Department of Agronomy in association with college students union, with the financial support of ‘Haritha Kerala Mission’ has celebrated the ‘World Water Day’ at College of Agriculture Padannakkad. The inaugural session was presided by Dr.R.Sujatha, ADR Coconut Mission and inaugurated by Dr.Mini.P.K Dean CoA Padannakkad. Specially Invited guest Sri.Kunhambu(who has created more than 1000 Surangams(Horizontal Wells) in the northern region of Kasargod District to solve the water crisis) was honored by the Dean Dr. Mini.P.K.
Prizes were distributed to the students who have become winners of the poster making competition and essay writing competition conducted as part of world water day celebration. A seminar on the topic ‘Ground water Governance for enhancing water security’ by Smt.Ambili.G.K, Senior Scientist, was also conducted after the inaugural session.
